Weekend Links

"I want to vote, Mama!" See that little "I voted" sticker? This is the proud face of a little one who had a great first-time experience "voting!"
Henry, post-voting on Tuesday. See that little sticker? He was so proud of himself.

Yay, Friday! Every week I sound like a broken record but I can't help it...I'm just so happy it's the weekend! This one should be especially fun too. Later today I'll be heading up to Flagstaff to meet up with five of my college girlfriends for a rare couple of days all together. I'm so excited to get lost in nostalgia visiting our favorite places and eating all of our favorite foods...and also catching up and making some new memories too. Feel free to follow along with me on Instagram as I (over)gram the weekend away (user name: danihampton). Then Sunday Hank, Henry and I have a fun family movie night planned. We're going through all the Disney classics to get ready for our Disney trip in a few months. So far Henry's favorites are Lady and the Tramp and Dumbo. My vote for this week's pick is The Little Mermaid...the best!

And usual, here are some links to enjoy. xo

Shark on the loose!
a little shark on the loose at our library's Halloween party last week

Happy Saturday morning! This weekend should be a good one full of friends and family. On the agenda: a baby shower, visiting my sister and Abe's brand new home, and hopefully a stop at our favorite vegan restaurant.

I have been loving seeing all of your Halloween posts, and thank you guys for humoring me as I posted about 10-too-many (okay maybe 15) photos in my own post. Oh well! It's for the sake of posterity right?

Wishing all of you a wonderful time this weekend!

-----

First up, have you checked out LuLu*s new site?  LuLu*s has been a sponsor of mine in the past and I love love love so many of the items on their site. I'll be posting some family photos next week and in them I'm wearing my favorite sweater from there. I've always enjoyed shopping on their site, but the new version makes navigation a million times easier and they're offering some awesome new things too, like free returns. Check it out and let me know if you find something you like! Here are some of my picks: this party perfect dress and these sweet and simple flats.

Looking for a way to get creative this holiday season? The Craft Pack (made up of three talented people, including my friend Susan!) has created an e-book called A Hip Handmade Holiday, teaching you how to make gifts for everyone in your family for under $10. And best of all, the book itself is $10. Awesome.

Weekend Links

Playing trains on the bridge. So thankful for this beautiful Fall day!
from our afternoon in Sedona today- more on this later next week :)

Happy Sunday evening! It's actually 11:47pm Arizona time and I'm just sneaking this "weekend links" post in before the weekend is over! This week I decided to include a few links from the tweets and FB comments I received- so a huge thank you to all of you who participated! You sent so many links in that I couldn't share them all (and I feel terrible about that), so I chose a few randomly to be fair. If I didn't include your link this time be sure to let me know you submitted this time when I do it again- I really would love to include everyone!

Enjoy and have a wonderful new week.

Weekend Links

Happiness is: morning walks with @veronique417 and our boys, talking about life and motherhood and everything in between. Feeling extra thankful today.
from our walk Friday morning- I love all of the colors!

Hello weekend! We've been anticipating you all week long. Henry and I kicked it off early Friday morning, with a little downtown time with Veronica and Max. She watched H. while I ran and got my eyes checked (more on this later), then we did brunch at our favorite bagel shop. Have you ever had a sushi bagel before? Wasabi cream cheese, salmon and cucumber on a sea salt bagel. To die for! After we all ate we walked around for awhile, admiring all of the pretty Fall colors. Later on Hank and I went to CrossFit, and then we finally watched Moonrise Kingdom since it's out on iTunes. We really, really enjoyed it (more on this later too).

This morning I went and did some hot yoga and then we all headed over to celebrate Zelia's first birthday after Henry's nap. We had the best time with some of our oldest friends and met some new ones too. I'm seriously loving this weekend, and there's still a lot more fun to come. Tomorrow morning we're packing it up for a mini-roadtrip and I'm really looking forward to spending a couple of hours in the car with my guys and enjoying some even cooler weather and pretty scenery.

I'm wishing you and yours the best weekend, too!

Still Juxing, still loving it! I've said before and I'll say it again: it's the absolutely perfect site for capturing all of my little thoughts and daily going-ons. I also love that it's a second place I can back up my Instagram photos too.

And speaking of Instagram, have you checked out the InstaMom feed over on Elizabeth Street yet? I add a couple photos a week over there with the hashtag #esfallfun and I'm excited to see who wins this month.

"Take that, high blood pressure!" Enjoyed this post over on Liz's blog.

I've only passed through Denver on my way to Wyoming or via a connecting flight, but this post makes me want to spend more time there- lots of neat ideas and places to go!

Weekend Links & A Few Things

Enjoying this beautiful weather!
Downtown yesterday, playing with trucks and enjoying the wonderful weather we've been having. I know I'm biased, but he is really the most beautiful little thing I've ever seen. My heart!

A few things:

1. I'm doing a fun collaboration with Elizabeth St. called Instamom. Every month they will be holding a contest (read more about it here), and to enter this month, simply hashtag your "fall fun" Instagram photos with #esfallfun. I also contributed an article about my 5 Instagram Tips for Moms, so pop over and check it out!

2. Thank you all SO much for all of the kind words about the amazing blog design Liz created for Sometimes Sweet. I wanted something insanely simple, clean, and easy to navigate, and she definitely delivered. After reading through all of your comments she also darkened up the link font, added navigation to the bottom of the page, and put my search box and archives back, all the way at the bottom of the left hand side. If you have any other issues, please let me know. And thank you so much again for taking the time to leave such sweet comments about it.

3. I am no longer taking submissions for Literate & Stylish. I have a ton to go through, and once I hit the bottom of them I'll figure out if I'll want to continue the feature for another go-round, or move onto something new. I'm thinking it'll probably be the latter, but if I open it back up I'll let you know!

4. Do any of you have any suggestions on fun things to do in Las Vegas that don't include drinking or partying? ha. I will be there next week for a couple of days with two of my girlfriends, and we just want to have a relaxing time. We choose Vegas because it's a cheap place to all meet, right in the middle, and we are just looking to eat a ton of good food and enjoy the sights and shops. So if you have any recommendations for delicious eats (vegetarian-friendly, please) and/or sweet treats, I'd love to hear 'em!

In other news, it's Friday! Yay! We have a family photo shoot tomorrow morning, and then a bbq over here on Sunday afternoon. It should be a great weekend full of friends and fun. I hope you have a good one too!

One of the prettiest and best blogs I've come across in awhile. If you like food or breakfast (aka if you're human), you'll love Simply Breakfast.

Hank sent me this link yesterday. It's upsetting to imagine a world without PBS. Unfortunately, it may one day become a reality.  Here's a bit more on it via HP too.

Love this free October desktop wallpaper.

And speaking of free, here are 16 pretty fonts.

Happy weekend! xoxo

So in love with my new favorite sweater from Lulus. Get one for yourself here!

Plans changed a bit and I am typing this from home, not from Las Vegas as I had originally planned. I was set to visit Emily for the weekend but she had to work, so I'm enjoying some quiet family time with my guys. I hope you have a rejuvenating, relaxing weekend too!

I contributed a piece to the wonderful Lydia Mag about learning to say yes!

My friend Cole made it to the top 100 finalists in the Martha Stewart American Made Awards, which is looking for the next creative entrepreneur. She's in the running to win $10,000 to expand her business, a trip to NY and a chance to be featured in Martha Stewart's magazine. If you have a moment, please head over there and vote for Nicole (you can vote everyday until Sept. 24th). The easiest way to find her is by clicking on the interactive map on Arizona.
